Are you overwhelmed trying to find support for your child’s mental health? With social media, family members, fellow parents, professionals, and countless others all telling us the best ways to raise our kids, it can be exhausting wading through the different opinions. It’s even harder to make these decisions when several family members are struggling with their mental health.
I’m here to help you feel less alone in this challenge. I provide individual therapy for children, teens, and parents needing their own support. I also offer couple and family sessions to help navigate conflicts and improve family functioning. I work primarily with clients who are struggling with overwhelming behaviors at home, school, and in public, especially those related to ADHD, autism, and/or PDA. This can include emotional meltdowns, difficulty completing tasks, challenges with following rules/meeting expectations, verbal and physical fights, and self-harm/self-injurious behavior.
What Working With Me Feels Like
My therapy style is collaborative, laid-back, and focused on normalizing struggles and reducing shame. Rather than following an identical routine with all clients, I’ll help you understand the possible approaches and decide which is best for you, your child, and/or your family. I’ve often heard from parents that even after consulting with a professional, they continue to feel lost, confused, and unsure how to best support their child. In addition to working directly with your child, I am dedicated to empowering you through extensive education and collaboration throughout the treatment process. The more confidence you have in understanding your child’s struggles, the more improvement we’ll see.
