Lariza Soto

CSW - Intern

My name is Lariza Soto, CSW-I and I go by she/her. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2018 with my Master of Social Work degree. I currently hold my license as a social worker in Nevada. I worked with Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, a nonprofit healthcare clinic, assisting patients with their social needs and providing resources. I have experience working with minority groups and uninsured families in southern Nevada providing case management. I have worked with people from different cultures and backgrounds that come to the U.S. as refugees seeking a better quality of life. I can support people going through life changes, depression, and anxiety utilizing a strength’s perspective and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. Because every person is unique, homework and therapeutic tools are built directly around your personal strengths and areas of interest to help hone new skills. My favorite part about therapy is watching clients grow the confidence to positively cope with life's challenges.

I was inspired to join Illuminated Path because they are community based and work with marginalized communities. Illuminated Path is for the people and engages with the community outside of the therapeutic setting.

I was born and raised in Nevada by Mexican parents and am proud to be a first-generation Mexican American who values honesty, integrity, and leads by example. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. Nature is my safe haven, and my favorite season is fall Whether you prefer virtual or in-person appointments, therapy is available in both English and Spanish.
