Hello/mabuhay

My name is Saritha (pronounced sa-ree-ta). When you meet me I can tell you the story behind the silent "h" as well as let you guess how old I really am! I am a Black and Filipina cisgender female. My pronouns are (she/her). I have always been interested in working with people and mental health since I was a teenager. Over the years my passion for the Social Work field has progressed into my personal mission to destigmatize mental health, especially in the African American and Asian communities. I started this agency as a way to provide resources, services, products, and training that would aid in this mission. My therapeutic philosophy is to help you help yourself; change is a choice, not an expectation. I often tell my clients that I am here to provide you guidance on the path you choose to go, even if you may not know what that path is yet. My objective in therapy is to help my clients identify/refine goals and progress towards their aspirations. I am a very flexible, casual type of person and my therapy style reflects my personality. I am a lover of the arts, especially music, and employ creativity in everything that I do. I strongly believe in a collaborative process and am honored to hold space for those that need it.

My Story

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Nevada. I am a Social Work Board-approved Clinical Supervisor. I teach part-time in the Social Work program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005 and my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2014. My background in sociology taught me to engage individuals and groups within a broader social context. As a clinical social worker, I gained experience with connecting people to resources and honed my clinical skills. Throughout my social work and clinical experience, I have developed the ability to help people become more empowered and to advocate for the needs of others.  My experience in the social services field started in 2005 and spans from residential treatment centers, day treatment, foster care agencies, to Child Protective Services. I have worked for both inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient mental health agencies. In the community, I have provided crisis de-briefing counseling following significant traumatic events such as 1 October. I have provided training, been on podcasts, and engaged in speaking presentations on various mental/behavioral health topics. Having been trained in various treatment modalities: EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Parts, and Memory Therapy, and Family Systems I am experienced with providing individual, family, and group therapy to people of all ages starting at age 6 with a specialty in treating trauma. I have treated individuals who are survivors of domestic abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse as well as abuses endured in childhood. I provide education and treatment on racial and generational trauma as well. I provide services in the office as well as via teletherapy through our HIPAA compliant system.
